Always friendly service and good food for a great price

Food was ok, nothing special. Hash browns were kinda greasy but still ok. Wait staff was fairly attentive, but it was kinda slow.

My waitress went over and above my expectations. I told her up front I would be here to visit with my Father whom I had not seen in almost a year. I wish I could have given herca larger tip. She was very patient. By the way.... the ribs and liver and onions were DELICIOUS!

Food was good. Coffee cup was never empty.

Restaurant was real clean people are friendly had a French dip sandwich very little meat on the my wife had it sent back and got a Reuben Ruben but if you get a French dip be wary there's not a lot of meat

I enjoy the food here and the service is usually very fast and friendly. My favorite meal is the Strip Steak and eggs. The meat is always cooked the way I ask and the hashbrowns can be cooked to your individual level of crispness.

Tried this place twice for lunch and both times mediocre food. Not impressed. Then was in town in the morning last Thursday and thought who could screw up breakfast right? I'll tell you, The Blue Ox. We ordered omlets, my husband bacon and cheese then I order a ham, onion and green pepper. They brought 2 bacon omlets. I wasn't going to be picky so said it was fine I'd eat it. Was horrid bacon! They put alot in it but tasted bad. Didn't want to play russian roulette with my stomach so didn't eat it.

Best Monroe has to offer. Good every time.

The sign on the door said, “We’re taking every possible precaution....” They aren’t. Only one employee was masked, common use menus, salt/pepper and other condiments. We asked to be seated away from other people, which we were, but then the place filled up (breakfast time), so no limiting of numbers. They may be sanitizing regularly (I didn’t look for this), but still, many protocols were not in place. I was not in a position to leave or I would have. I felt very uncomfortable. Food and service were great, but COVID precautions, not so much.

Food is delicious and plentiful, enough for a second meal for a senior citizen. The prices are affordable and the waitress was sincerely friendly. Consistent over the last 5 years. Highly recommend!

Service was good until after the drinks were served. The waiter openly joked about forgetting part of the meal, and numerously forgot what everyone had ordered. After the food was served, it was apparent that EVERYTHING was cold and getting condiments took longer then getting the food it self. This was not an appetizing meal and I will not be returning to this establishment.

Food could be much better with flavor. Service was also not good. My server must have been very new and it showed.. Bill was very cheap for 3 people dinner... about $15-20.

Fast friendly service. Had the prime rib and French onion soup. Was real good,cooked to order and good size. Soup was good and larger bowl than other restaurants. Wife had the steak,chicken and shrimp meal. That was real good as well. Chicken was juicey, shrimp was juicy and the Steak was cooked to order. When in Monroe,stop in. Waitress Teresa is always entertaining and attentive.

It was St. Patrick's Day! The Blue Ox had corned beef and cabbage. I was a little leery, but it turned out to be great! The service was also very good!

Don't order the chicken salad sandwich. Terrible. Barely tasted any chicken. Alot of something green in it that wasn't celery

Love the food, the atmosphere, the service! It's a great family restaurant. Their food is excellent! I love going with my daughter because it is kid friendly! Just an all around wonderful place to eat with reasonable prices.

This place is worth trying. They serve large portions for affordable prices. Constantly clean and with awesome atmosphere. Will come back again.

Great food, large portion sizes, friendly wait staff. Our waitress was amazing. The building looks rough from the outside but it's actually really cute in there. It sort of has a Tuscan mixed with an American diner feel to it. Nice and quiet, great for a relaxing evening dinner.
